You've heard this story before—at least, you think you have. It begins with a curse and a transformation into a fearsome beast, and ends with a prince, a beauty, and the redemption of true love. But that's not this story.

This story starts with Eve; cruel, vain, and selfish. She insults the wrong person, she finds herself cursed. The only way to break it is to find true and unselfish love.

But Eve doesn't believe in love, and she knows exactly how to make use of her image, hideous or no. Claws and wings? Just something new to adapt to...

Reaper is a psychopomp charged with wandering the world, finding ghosts and sending them Onwards. The lingering of ghosts wears away at the fabric of reality, allowing creatures from other dimensions to break through and wreak havoc on the mortal plane.

She has no memory of who she was or of her life before she was given her charge, only that she has fulfilled her responsibilities dutifully for a long, long time. And then she comes across a ghost named Tamlin, who begs her to not send him Onward. And for the first time, Reaper is moved. Reaper listens to him.

Reaper breaks the rules.

She doesn't know exactly why, except that she is tired of being alone, and something about Tamlin calls to her. But Tamlin is no ordinary ghost, and the consequences of this one, self-indulgent act are more far reaching than either of them know...

There is something out there, tied to Tamlin. It is far more powerful than a psychopomp, and it is hungry.

When Etienne, heir to the leading bio-tech and gene modification empire that is the LeMarque Foundation, disappears without a trace, his parents scramble to both find him and hide the fact that their son is missing, lest he or his absence be used against them.

To this end, they hire Cipher, one of the few known shapeshifters able to fully shift his entire form, to act as Etienne's doppelgänger. Sacha, Etienne's bodyguard, is set the task of training Cipher to convincingly act like Etienne and protect him from any further attacks that may be made.

Sacha's job is not to search for her erstwhile charge, but that's exactly what she does, with Cipher's reluctant help. And in the course of looking for him, they discover Etienne's disappearance may unravel the Foundation's secrets and fan the flames of an underground rebellion...

Laika, a werewolf, lives in an old manor house that is either sentient or haunted, along with a debonair dwarf, a recalcitrant selkie, a shy orc, and a grubby cryptid of an elf. That's a lot of personalities for one house—and then one night she stumbles on a miserable vampire named Kyle, who's just been kicked out of his nest by his sire.

Laika might have a bite just as bad as her bark, but she's not so heartless as to let a vampire face sunrise with only his snapback for protection...so she invites him over.

These are their (mis)adventures.
